Meta Youth Exchange (Djerba –Tunisia)
34 participants from 5 countries ( Tunisia, Palestine , Italy , Serbia and Bulgaria) was gathered during 7 days in Djerba for a residential youth exchange .The approach is to consult young people and stimulate their creativity and critical thinking on the topic of E-learning and virtual exchanges. The Participants reflected on the process of learning within a multicultural group while living the actual experience firsthand. Moreover, they discussed how this process can be transformed online and what needs to be done to optimize existing E-learning and Virtual Youth Exchanges (VYE) opportunities.
- Build an atmosphere of creativity and critical thinking approach among the group.
- Engage the group in a discussion about the use of ICT tools in learning.
- Activate a debate on existing E-learning and VYE on efficiency and challenges.
- Develop a draft for a desired VYE that fits their needs and expectations from a virtual learning experience.
- Create a context for researchers to observe and report on learning processes during a residential exchange, which can be used in a comparative analysis with the next activity (VYE). Topics to cover during the activity:
- Meta Discussions on multicultural learning processes
- Exploring virtual identity vs real identity theory
- Critical thinking on online participation
- E-learning in the new tech era
- Creative ways available through virtual learning
- Building blocks of an E-learning experience
